Had to share this great Media Post article by Catharine Taylor who brings expectations for ¬†social media marketers back down to earth: “A Reminder To Social Marketers: Nope, You’re Not Trending

It’s not that marketing within social media isn’t valuable. Obviously marketing can bring a variety of benefits to companies and individuals – including education, loyalty, goodwill, deals, awareness, etc. But realistically… people are interested in stories, not sales.

PS. Kudos to VW for making the list with their Passat / Darth Vadar ad. They told a good story… about a child and his dad (as a hero.) Who wouldn’t want to connect to that?
